What You Will Learn:
Amber Lowe has spent a little more than 10 years teaching preschoolers and Kindergarteners in Reggio-Inspired settings in Canada and the U.S. She has a B.Ed in Elementary Education from McGill University and an M.Ed in Cultural & Policy Studies from Queen’s University. Originally from Ottawa, Canada, Amber moved to Boston in 2007 and has worked at The Advent School, a Reggio-Inspired progressive elementary school with a social justice mission, for eight years. During her teaching career, Amber created and oversaw a design and engineering summer program and coordinated Reggio-inspired educator programs at The Advent School. She transitioned into school administration in 2018 and is currently the Manager of Strategic Partnerships and Coordinator of Reggio-Inspired Programs.
Amber is also the President-Elect of the Boston Area Reggio Inspired Network – a non-profit organization that works to support the professional growth and development of educators interested in expanding their knowledge of the Reggio Emilia Approach. In 2018, she supported and led various professional development during the Wonder of Learning exhibit in Boston. Amber leads workshops and presents on a variety of topics including the Basic Principles of the Reggio Emilia Approach, Social Justice Teaching Through Reggio-Inspired Practices, Provocations & Invitations to Play, and Documentation.
Amber lives in South Boston with her partner Derek and 2.5-year-old daughter Audrey.
